Classical Music Library Database


Log in when prompted. 

Password  information for instructor's library is posted within the student's RODP course.  Log in to your RODP elearn course system, click on your course at bottom of page.  Once in your course click on the "Virtual Library" link at left.  Ask the RODP Reference Librarian  for assistance if  this is not available from within your course.

Classical Music Library is a complete classical music collection, cross-referenced to a database of supplementary information with a user-friendly interface.

It features 35,000-plus fully licensed recordings, thousands of program notes and composer biographies, advanced searching, hundreds of recommended playlists themed by categories .

Any audio-enabled computer is able to play Classical Music Library.  The following software for PC’s is recommended: Windows 98 (or higher), Internet Explorer v5.5sp2 (or better) or Netscape 6+, and Windows Media Player v8 (or better). For Mac’s on OS9 - Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.1 or above, or Netscape 4.7 or above.  For Mac’s on OS10 - Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.2 or Netscape 6.2.  Flash Player 6 is required for all systems.  Please note: Due to the nature of the Internet and computers, some operating systems and browser configurations are not compatible with the service. Please email customerservice@classical.com for a complete list of compatible hardware and software.

Listen to music at two streaming rates:

STANDARD: music is streamed at 22 kilobits per second and provides similar sound quality to that of FM radio. It is particularly suitable for users on dial-up connections.

PREMIUM: music is streamed at 64 kilobits per second. This produces much higher quality sound but requires a broadband connection.
